Event Details

The Harborfields Library and the Greenlawn-Centerport Historical Association invite you to a special presentation by author, historian, and former prize-winning Newsday journalist Bill Bleyer. Bleyer will discuss his book, George Washington’s Long Island Spy Ring: A History and Tour Guide, and share the true story of the Culper Spy Ring.
History enthusiasts have long been intrigued by the Culper Spy Ring’s role during the American Revolution, particularly following the AMC series Turn. Over the years, numerous legends have emerged, including Anna Strong’s famous clothesline, along with various theories about how the spies supported George Washington’s Continental Army.
In this PowerPoint lecture, Bleyer will separate fact from fiction and reveal the intricate workings of the intelligence network that helped the Patriots secure victory. Books will be available for purchase. Please register.
