It’s been 100 years since Hank Williams was born and, though the legendary country singer/songwriter died on New Year’s Eve, 1952, he’s never been more with us than he is today. For subsequent generations of country fans, Hank Williams isn’t just another country singer—Hank Williams is country music itself.
Join us on Hank Williams' birthday to celebrate this iconic star with Tennessee Walt’s The Hank Williams Century. This program is packed with Williams hits (“I Saw the Light,” “Jambalaya,” “Your Cheating Heart” and more) along with rarities and, as always, fascinating background on the songs and on Williams himself. It’s a show 100 years in the making! This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
