Event Details

NASA has chosen various organizations nationwide to receive "Moon Tree" seedlings that orbited the Moon on the Artemis I mission in 2022. These seedlings which are rooted in the heritage of the original Moon Trees carried by NASA astronaut Stuart Roosa during Apollo 14, traveled 270,000 miles from Earth aboard the Orion spacecraft. We are pleased to announce that the Vanderbilt  Museum and Planetarium is a recipient of a Moon Tree seedling. Please join us along with Charles Eder, the Astronomy Educator for the Planetarium as he discusses the Artemis program and their newly acquired tree. Please register.
